Welcome to Cardiff Steiner Education Initiative
Working towards a Steiner School in Cardiff.
Cardiff Steiner Education Initiative grew out of the wish of parents at the Cardiff Steiner Early Years Centre for a Steiner School where their children could continue to benefit from an educational method that is based on an understanding of the development of the whole child - physical, emotional and spiritual.
There was an attempt to start a school in 2005-2006. Sadly it could not continue into a second year as there were not enough children of the same age. In fact we had a great learning experience, so that a future attempt would hopefully be much more solid.
To start a full time school you need a minimum of 10 children of the same age to make a viable class. Also you need an experienced foundation teacher.
A Steiner school is non-profit making. It is a "socially oriented independent school which is a charity". It is neither a "state" school nor a "private" school. Its aim is to benefit the community and to further the cultural advance.
It is open to all who are interested in Waldorf / Steiner education.
